Susan: My BooksSo little time . . . so many books! 30 dicembre Books read in 2008I have decided to start a new blog for "books I've read in 2008." It will be entitled Susan Mendell's Books of 2008. It will be an interesting list in that my interests now incorporate lots of science and books by famously known atheists such as Hitchens and Dawkins. 07 novembre The EndI believe this to be the last entry in this Blog. As you can see, I have done a lot of reading this year. And now, what I find happening to me is that I am wanting to read certain books over again...But I will continue to try to find new and interesting books to read! 11 ottobre Chaim PotokIf I don't get to read my Chaim Potok books at least once a year, I just don't feel right! He is my favorite author, and I have started 4 of his books this month! One of them I actually haven't read before...it is a non-fiction book about the Slepak family. It is a shame that he died 4 years ago.

30 agosto A Great Loss08 agosto August BooksWhen I was in college, I studied Spanish and that was when I read my first book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez...One Hundred Years of Solitude. He will be 80 years old this year, and it is good to see that he can still write great literature!
30 luglio End of July!I finished July with another great romance...Jane Eyre! I cried again, seeing myself and my beloved Daniel in the characters of Jane and Mr. Rochester. Next month, I am going to read some "lighter" books!
03 luglio July BooksI cried as I finished Queen Noor's memoirs. Her relationship with King Hussein reminded me so much of mine with my beloved husband Daniel. Without all the royalty baggage!

29 maggio FriendsIt really helps to have friends that are avid readers to turn you on to good books! This month, two of my books (Middlemarch and Searching for Caleb) were recommended by Karen, the Dietician where I work. 30 aprile April Books!I know that it looks like I read a lot of books in the month of April, but actually I just FINISHED a lot of them. Some of them I started reading in January! There should be fewer books finished in the month of May. I hope to spend more time with Yoga and meditation next month...instead of just reading about them! 15 aprile Hooray!I cannot believe that I actually finished Lord Jim and Oliver Twist today! They were both very difficult for me to get through...Lord Jim because my mind kept wandering and Oliver Twist because it was so sad! I thought that I would begin by listing some of the wonderful books that I've read since the beginning of the year, 2006.
09 aprile My First BlogHello to all. Thanks for visiting my Blog. I decided today, Sunday, to start my own Blog, listing the wonderful books that I've read since the beginning of this year, and listing some of those books that I wish to read.
Reading is my favorite, most relaxing activity, although I enjoy my weekly nature walks with my belovéd husband. Probably my favorite authors are English like Jane Austen. I'm currently reading Persuasion and quite a few others on my [Rocket]eBook. I encourage everyone so inclined to comment on my Blog entries and discuss Ms. Austen and Victorian literature, and of course Asian Culture!
